Lisa Simmelink has been a Kansas educator for seventeen years. Currently, Lisa is employed at Eisenhower Elementary School in McPhearson, KS, where she teaches PreK through 5th Grade general music and directs the McPherson Elementary Honor Choir. She was recently named the 2018 Elementary Teacher of the Year for McPherson USD 418, and a semi-finalist for the 2019 Kansas Teacher of the Year. Lisa earned a Master of Music Education degree from Wichita State University, Wichita, KS, in 2006. She is co-founder and Past-President of Kodaly Music Educators of Kansas. She is currently serving as Past-President of the Midwest Kodaly Music Educators of America. Lisa has been the Level II Pedagogy and Folk Song Research Instructor in the Wichita State University Kodaly Program since its inception, as well as the California State University – Bakersfield Program.
